Building Bright Futures: Summer at Arlington Area Childcare

As the summer sun shines over Vermont, the classrooms and playgrounds at Arlington Area Childcare are alive with laughter, creativity, and discovery. Whether it’s a toddler exploring sensory bins with water play, a preschooler diving into imaginative play, or a school-age camper planting seeds in the garden, every moment at our center reflects what we value most: learning through play, connection, and care.

Summer is a particularly special season at our center, one that allows us to expand programming for school-age children while continuing to nurture our youngest learners. Our summer curriculum blends outdoor exploration, art, STEM, water play, and social-emotional learning to make every day an engaging and meaningful adventure. With a dedicated team and a trauma-informed, play-based approach, we create an environment where children not only feel safe but also see, are supported, and empowered to grow. We help to bridge the gap to end summer learning loss.

As the only full-time summer program in Arlington, our role in the community is essential. We provide a dependable, enriching space for children while school is out, giving working parents the peace of mind that their children are not only well cared for but also staying active, connected, and curious. In a rural community with limited options, our summer program is truly a lifeline, offering structure, social engagement, and hands-on learning that help prevent summer learning loss and support overall well-being.
