Weekly Lesson plans

Each classroom establishes and plans its weekly theme so your child has something new to anticipate each week. Our Frog Street curriculum is tied into all lesson plans as well as (VELS) and development in the five core areas.

Infant Classroom: Individualized Care & Early Learning Foundations

In our infant classroom, we understand that every baby is unique, with their own rhythms, needs, and developmental milestones. We provide individualized, responsive care by following each infant’s cues and personal schedule—ensuring that feeding, naps, and play experiences align with their individual needs rather than a rigid routine.

Our nurturing educators create a safe, calm, and loving environment where infants feel secure and supported. Whether it’s a soothing nap, a feeding session, or one-on-one interaction on the floor, caregivers respond thoughtfully and consistently, building strong, trusting relationships that are essential for healthy development.

Early learning begins at birth, and our infant program intentionally incorporates Farm to School principles in developmentally appropriate ways. Infants are gently introduced to sensory experiences connected to food and nature—such as observing colors and textures, exploring natural materials, and participating in age-appropriate food-related routines. These early experiences help lay the foundation for curiosity, sensory awareness, and healthy relationships with food as children grow.

Our infant environment and teaching practices are guided by the CLASS® (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) framework, which emphasizes the quality of interactions between educators and children. Warm, responsive relationships; consistent emotional support; and attentive caregiving are central to our approach. These interactions support brain development, emotional security, and early communication skills during this critical stage of life.

By combining individualized care, relationship-based interactions, early Farm to School learning, and high-quality environments, we ensure that each infant’s day is filled with comfort, security, and meaningful opportunities for growth—at their own pace.

Hands-on activities

Our activities are designed to keep your child engaged, whether it’s learning how to pick up a small toy or a new sensory experience they haven’t explored yet. Each child, even infants, is always engaged in learning.

Toddler Classrooms:

Our toddler classrooms are where the work truly begins as children take important steps toward becoming confident, capable preschoolers. This stage is foundational, and our environments are intentionally designed to support growth across all developmental domains, cognitive, physical, social, and emotional, while laying the groundwork for future success.

Using a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum, toddlers are encouraged to explore, experiment, and engage in meaningful learning experiences that build curiosity, independence, and problem-solving skills. Our 1–2-year-old and 2–3-year-old classrooms are thoughtfully grouped to provide age-appropriate peer models, helping children learn from one another while developing early communication and social skills.

Our work with toddlers is guided by the Vermont Early Learning Standards (VELS), ensuring learning experiences support whole-child development, and informed by the UPK Pyramid Model, which emphasizes strong relationships, supportive environments, and proactive strategies to build social-emotional competence. We also embed Conscious Discipline practices throughout the day, helping toddlers identify emotions, practice self-regulation, and build empathy through consistent language, routines, and co-regulation with trusted adults.

Learning continues through our Farm to School approach, where toddlers engage in hands-on, sensory-rich experiences connected to food and nature. Activities such as washing produce, exploring textures and smells, participating in simple food preparation, and sharing family-style meals support fine motor development, language growth, and healthy relationships with food.

Our toddler classrooms are guided by the CLASS® (Classroom Assessment Scoring System) framework, which emphasizes the quality of interactions between educators and children. Teachers provide warm emotional support, model language, scaffold learning, and help toddlers navigate big feelings—supporting brain development and building the self-regulation skills needed for preschool readiness.

The environment is structured yet flexible, offering children choices while maintaining consistent expectations and routines. By focusing on individual growth within a nurturing group setting, we help toddlers build confidence, resilience, and a love of learning—preparing them to transition successfully into our preschool and Pre-K programs.

"We nurture every baby’s curiosity with gentle hands and open hearts, creating a safe space where first moments turn into milestones."
